How do I get promoted
to Lieutenant? |
|
How quickly you get
promoted to Lieutenant is entirely up to you. There are various
different ways of doing this:
Complete your
Imperial Naval Pilot Record (INPR). This can be done online by
logging in to the TIE Corps
database
Fly any EH Battle
Win a round at any official Multiplayer contest
Participate in any official EH Contest
Make a submission to the Fleet Newsletter.
Create a battle or free mission that is approved by the Tactical Office! Complete any IWATS Courses (not inc. the Core test).
Complete any of these activities and your CMDR may request your
promotion to Lieutenant.

I have a question, who
do I ask? |
|
First contact for any questions should always be
your Squadron CMDR. It's your CMDR's job to help you, if he
doesn't know the answer to your question, he should be able to
tell you who to ask, or find out for you.

My CMDR isn't
answering my emails. What can I do? |
First of all, don't
panic! There could be any number of reasons for this, but just in
case it means your CMDR has gone AWOL, the first thing you should
do is contact Wing Commander immediately. Your Wing Commander will
know what to do next.

How soon can I be
promoted to Lieutenant Commander? |
That depends on your
position. If you're a Flight Member you must wait two months
before you are eligible for promotion. A Flight Leader must
wait one. However, this isn't an automatic promotion. Simply
idling for two months will not earn you a promotion to Lieutenant
Commander. You have to show that you're an asset to your Squadron,
and that means being active.

How can I be "active"
in the TIE Corps? |
There are limitless
things you can do to be active. The most obvious (and the one that
CMDRs love the most) is for you to download and fly battles. This
not only keeps your CMDR happy, but it increases your rank in the
Fleet Commander's Honour
Guard too. You can take IWATS
Courses, write fiction, create graphics, chat on IRC, post on
Message Boards, design your own Battles and Free Missions,
exchange lots of emails, suggest new ways to make your Squadron or
Wing better… the list is only limited by your imagination. But
make sure that you let your CMDR know about whatever you do -
being active and people knowing about your
being active are two different things!

I flew a battle. Who
do I send my file to? |
If you're a FM or FL,
you send it to your CMDR. Everyone else sends their files to the
next person up the chain of Command. So, CMDRs send their files to
the WC, WCs send theirs to the COM, COMs send theirs to the BGCOM
and BGCOMs send theirs to the Flight Officer.

Other people tell me
that they can award medals and other things when they've logged
in. Why can't I do this? |
The database knows who
you are, and it only allows you to do whatever your position
entitles you to do. As a Flight Member or Flight Leader, all you
can do is change certain details on your own Profile. A CMDR can
recommend Imperial Security Medals or submit BSFs for anyone in
his Squadron, he can change Squadron and Flight nicknames,
banners, URLs and mottos. The further up the chain of command you
go, the more access privileges you get.

There are problems on
my profile. I can't change them myself, who do I talk to? |
|
Who you contact
depends on what the problem is. The Tie Corps database is a very
large program and different Command Officers have different areas
of responsibilities.
The Flight Officer
- For any inaccuracies relating to the Rosters. For example,
ranks, dates, assignments, email addresses, etc.
The Training Officer
- For any inaccuracies relating to IWATS Courses
The Tactical Officer
- For any inaccuracies relating to Battle Records or FCHG Ranks
The Operations Officer
- For any inaccuracies relating to Medal Awards.
Be advised that
pilots seeking to have Battle or Medal records changed must
supply proof that the records are incorrect before any changes
will be approved.

I have a character in
the Hammer's Fist, but the Roster only shows my TIE Corps
character. |
That's because it's
the TIE Corps Database. The Hammer's Fist Roster will show the
other character.

I keep hearing people
mention the FCHG. What is this? |
The FCHG stands for
the Fleet Commander's Honour Guard. Every time you fly a
mission, every time you win an official multiplayer combat and
every time you gain a High Mission or Battle Score, you gain FCHG
points. Once you earn the minimum number of points, you are
automatically a member of the FCHG. Membership of the FCHG is
split into ranks and the more points you earn, the higher your
FCHG rank will be. You gain additions to your ID line and stripes
which may be added to your uniform for every FCHG rank you earn.
You can look at your Wing's Roster to see where you stand in
relation to all of your fellow FCHG members.
